The 25th Judicial District Court is comprised of the Parish of Plaquemines. The court is divided into two divisions, A and B, one judge presiding in each division. The 25th Judicial District Court is a court of general jurisdiction, hearing civil, criminal (felonies and misdemeanors), traffic, juvenile, family, adult drug court and probate matters. All court proceedings are held in the new Courthouse located at 18055 Highway 15, Pointe-a-la-Hache, Louisiana.

25th JDC COURTHOUSE RULES

Visitors of the 25TH Judicial District Court are prohibited from entering the Courthouse with any weapons, dangerous instrumentalities, or illegal contraband. Visitors are additionally prohibited from entering the Courthouse with any electronic devices, unless exempted. Attorneys present for court proceedings and any person representing themselves with a case before the Court are exempted from the prohibition of electronic devices, if said devices are to be used in their case.

“Electronic devices” include, but may not be limited to the following:

  • Cell phones

  • Tablets

  • Cameras

  • Digital or Tape recorders

  • Computer laptops

Upon entering the Courthouse, all visitors are REQUIRED to pass through a security checkpoint and complete the following security measures:

  • Empty all pockets and remove all metal items;

  • Present all hand-carried items to be scanned through an X-Ray Scanner, including all bags, purses, briefcases, etc.;

  • Proceed through a metal detection device (magnetometer) before gaining entrance to the building.

Visitors may also be subject to screening by hand-held magnetometers at any location within the Courthouse.
